The scent of lemon melted the air. As nostrils pucker, flicking at the natural sour fruit. The teacup bathed in the boiling water as she squeezed the lemon juice. The spoon stirred, dancing in spirals as she prepped for the day. Another lesson to be held as she desired to grasp the hearts and minds of the students. It had been ever so long since she engaged, interacted with such dignity. A sigh caused her to lower her head with displeasure at the sight of empty chairs. Her body was being tortured, so many pupils to grip, so many Lords and Lady Fairs! Alas so few she plucked from bed, uprooting them as they discovered possibilities. The spoon broke her wonder at the sound of the tapping as the spoon wiped itself clean.

Margo sat along the table as her pale eyes looked towards the door. The table shielded her body, concealing majority of her physical presence. She wore a black hooded robe, the trimming of the hood and wrists flared with white fur. Her hair pulled back in luscious curls. Bouncing playfully as her head would turn. Fingers curled along the handle as she took a long sip. The brim of the cup resting along her bottom lip as she continued to stare at door. Her gaze taunting as she removed her hand from the cup handle. The teacup hovered for a few moments before gently gliding down to its saucer.

“Perhaps one would break the silence, yes! To carve out a portion of the air and place it upon the table as a prize, to break the silence, defeating quiet.! Such a knightly action taking shape. Someone to break the mold of confinement and speak. Such splendid notion as the voice heals, summoning for the ear to listen, to perk up and absorb. How charming.” Margo spoke softly to herself as her tongue clicked the roof of her mouth as she exaggerated her pronunciation. As she declared herself a breaker.

“I must speak with my Mistress, to hear her own rational and retribution would aid me so, to hear rumors of troubled paths, as a merging is taking place. Are we as save as we once were?” The teacup trembled as Margo looked down she cupped her hand as she wrapped it along the siding of the cup, embracing the cup in a hold. “Now now little one! Do not fear, I am here to protect you. All of you.” Margo rose her head as she looked at all the objects as they perked up in listening. “With patience and trust the Mistress will not stray us, the walls have ears you see! They listen to the rambles of rivalry, not all is declared however, our purpose may shift, to drift from curtsey and bow, to a more physical courtship. Perhaps…..we might teach a knight to be agile to save their life, to save our own.”

The teacup nuzzled into the creases of her fingers as Margo looked back up to the door sighing once more. “This is not the end my darlings, merely a divided road with no sign pointing left nor right, for at this moment I am unsure which side is right, this is beyond directions, this is about opinion, my left is your right, right, left….it is all the same now. However, on the dance floor so awkwardly moving. We are outsiders now. Who would ever want to dance?” Margo’s eyes filled with tears as the clothed napkin blotted the corners of her eyes. Margo smiled lightly as the kettle poured her another cup.

“Another round of lemon. For it is time to drink.”
