Jamuna springs. Sunset.

Just as the sun was setting, the snow that started to melt still covered patches of grass here and there. The smell of over-warmed water, steam could be seen rising from the surface of softly rushing waters. There was a taste in the air, that was something dark yet a tangible taste of...Excitement. Lips were licked, grey hued eyes were shut as a simple sigh escaped through thinly lips. There was a form moving through melted snow, crunching under finely polished italian leather shoes. Pale hands were tucked away in a finely sewn long trenchcoat, plush at the touch yet firm enough to withstand it's push and pull.

One hand raised from it's warm pocketed depth, and fore-finger and thumb clicked together for only a moment before the fore-finger raised and scaled along the corners of his face, pushing the so blonde, it's almost silver locks from his face. His head tossed back and with a soft sigh as the grey hues once again popped open against the rising moon light, a simple smile crossed his face. ''Mmm... It's so nice to be back....'' With a deep breath inhaling, like forms of his kind really needed to breathe, it was a delicatesy that he fancied over drinking wine any day.

Soft steps echoed only by the crunching of his shoes against the some-what patched with snow covered ground, getting closer to the rising steam of the Jamuna springs. His free hand stretched out, and touched against the steam floating through the air. ''So wonderful...'' The voice loomed over the soft rush of waters touch.

The painter had long ago strewn his brush against the sky, as the colors of pale pink, purple, and orange filled it perfectly making the scene almost breathe taking. As little diamonds began to dance in the hues of the sunset, a light smile crested on to her lips. Long flowing locks of dark lavender hair could be seen in the distance. She was not paying completely to much attention, but enough to know at least the thought her surroundings. A halter white top was tied against her neck as she wore her hooded cloak out in the open.

Against her legs brushed a skirt made of black lace and feathers, the skirt just touched her upper thigh. The sight was very different, from something that could be considered normal, yet she was anything but. Pulling the cloak up around her frame hoping it would serve as a shadow rather, as she walked along the stream. The breeze had some what of a chill to it this evening, but she was use to braving the weather even in springtime cloths. Nothing a little fire couldn't fix. A light fog seemed to add a bit of mystery to the scene, yet she was very careful last time a fog was involved so was a vicious hell hound. Across her shoulder was the saddle bag that she never seemed to be without, carrying all the items she could ever need.

Humming very lightly, as the pebbles of the stream felt cool against the pads of her feet, a light giggle would befall on listening ears as a frog jumped off the stone into the stream. Whispering softly ….

“Sorry little guy…”

The soft sound of echoing waves and rushing of water kept his attention for the moments only because of the darkening cover of night approaching. It was soothing being around the warm filtered air of the Jamuna springs, t was a pleasant place to sit and ponder with the nights escape coming fast. This only made him want to touch the water that much more, even if he could only feel certain temperatures it was still a gift to enjoy the simplest things that humans took for granted. His fingers moved and unlaced the fancy leather shoes, setting them on top of a rock to allow their safety almost guaranteed.

With a gentle stretch and a tug, he saved the superior fabric of his dress pants from this warmth of waters, pushing his feet into the rushing waters. He gave out a gentle sigh of relief as he could actually feel the warmth against his cold skin it was amazing what small things you could enjoy by just doing them. He was enjoying his spot against the soft grass, feet in the warm weather just as he heard a frogs’ alarm going off. Something had disturbed it in the foggy darkness that was arriving quickly. His head turned and craned, searching behind him for just a moment before a shiver and a shake went through his spine.

’’Hello there stranger in the mist.’’ His voice was gentle, yet a strong force through the sanction of broken foggy centers. Still he didn’t move, he only basked in the warmth of the steam coming from the river.

As the fog began to grow dense it seemed to bring with it a light, but noticeable enough chill to the paleness of her skin. Watching the frog swim down the stream, only to cling to a larger stone and crawl back on to it, the frogs belly would swell and once again he would being to croak as if he was telling the others to watch out. Smiling she would shake her head a bit, and look upwards towards the oncoming dusk, this could be a very bad thing yet for the time being she didn’t let it trouble her too much. Swirls of violet surveyed the area; she would decide to follow the stream down instead of the flow upwards.

Pulling the heavy cloak around her frame she would against the stream eyeing a couple of large stones she would giggle slightly to herself a bit and stop on the bank. She began to contemplate trying to jump from rock to rock as she had done in her younger days. Slowly the tips of her fingers began to fiddle with the ties of the cloak, soon it would become loose around her frame and she would drop it against the ground. Then lifting up her saddle bag off her shoulder she would allow that to rest on top of the cloak, closing her eyes she began to feel the chill against her skin a little more.

Moving her hands against her arms she stared at the rocks and tried to fathom if she really wanted to try and make the leap. But the choice had already been made; she would back up a few feet and then take off in a sprint only to leap just as the tips of her toes touched the water’s edge. Flying through the sky the feathers of her lace feather skirt, it could perhaps give the image of a bird. Her feet hit the cold stone and she gained her balance standing there on top of the larger rock she would hear a voice.

The silts of her eyes would narrow down into the corners and she mumbled under her breath as she eyed the cloak and bag sitting on the bank. Her only option was to jump to the next two rocks to get back to the bank. She didn’t say a word, she remained completely still as the she watched, for a sign on where the voice came from.

Sounds of the river only echoed against the small group of saplings that surrounded the curve of the river. The peace of the night was touching, yet mysterious for no one would know what hid within the darkness. There had been a many coincidences in the areas of Caislin Hallows, demoness’s and werewolves the dangerous touch of creatures awaiting in the shade of the night. Still this held no pull to keep Mikel from enjoying the night, to find the inner sanctum that held a rush like the waters running past his ankles.

The sounds that erupted from further up the river, had now disappeared allowing things to return to the simple pleasure of nature sounds. Until one little thing caught his eye, a frog that had found himself a new perch against a rock upstream from where he was sitting, relaxing. Still the fog was encompassing almost every inch of the grounds surrounding. The frog now bursting its belly as it made croaking noises, becoming almost irritating now as his silence was broken once again. ’’Go find a new Lilly pad you loud little cretin.’’ A soft groan escaped him, as hands moved out and rolled up the dark material of his pants up to his knees. After doing so he stood up and traveled into the deepening waters of the river, looking up and down stream as he walked inwards.

Slightly unsettled that the fog was cutting more of his senses out than anything else, yet grey hues locked onto the little frog on the rock and moved closer with his hands outstretched, quickly snatching the creature up and lifting it to eye level. As curious as Mikel was, the Frog seemed to be more curious with the way its eyes shifted and its body swelled. Mikel’s attention dragged upstream where he figured the frog must have come from. Standing there his attention once more brought to curiosity as the muttered voice dragged out once again.

’’Hello?’’

The breath of the spring against her feet was nothing but a chill and yet it was inviting but if she chooses to be one with the water then the water would give her location away. That was not exactly what she wanted at this point in time, neither was to give herself away. Keeping herself rather focused moving towards the back most part of the rock she would stand. Bending her knees becoming lighter on her front right foot oppose to her left she would in one fluid motion jump towards the next rock in line. The only thought running through her head was the fact that she had to land silently as possible.

The chill of the fog was becoming even more unsettling the rock would hit against the pad of her feet as she landed. Swinging her arms outwards in both directions to ensure her balance she would finally take a deep breath and as she continued to look around the area. Eyeing her saddle bag that was resting on a look of relief foreshadowed her face. Cringing a bit as she heard the voice in the distance again….

“Drat…”she would whisper… “It's getting closer..."

In a bit of huff and haste she would eye the next rock in line trying to figure out the best position to jump from the current. The distance was much wider than the previous rocks and the outcome did not look at all promising but at this point and time she had no choice if she could just get to the bank and retrieve her belongings she would feel much more comfortable in this situation.

A leap of faith they called it?

Bracing herself for the worst she would move towards the furthest edge of the rock and leap forward hoping that her foot would land as it should. The motion was fluid and very quick, but it was lacking in the speed it needed to complete.

Letting out a yelp as her foot would land her into the stream of water and since algae was present the violet hair maiden would fall into the depths of the water. Drenched from head to toe she would attempt to stand up on the ever most slippery rocks, mumbling under her breath. Droplets of water beaded down the now dampened skin, as she decided just to trudge her way through the water to get her things. Her cover was she suspect officially blown...

Mikel had given up on listening up stream, since one bullfrog came and interrupted him he was sure there would be more up stream given the current way things were in the night with the deep fog they must’ve been out like wild lights. Once again drawn to the stream rushing past his ankles, the cold finally started getting at the man, making him lift his feet from the cold rush and pull back onto the bank of the river. He stood up and quickly patted his body down freeing the silken material of grass blades and dirt.

His entire form twitched, quite the strange act but it was justified by the wet and slimy frog that hopped onto his foot. Staring down at it, his head began to shake as he bent at the waist and picked up his suit jacket and tossed it over his shoulder, quickly picking the frog up from his feet in his free hand. He stood up and held his hand flat staring at the creature as its belly filled with air once again, Mikel could let a soft laugh escape him. He was in the fog, it was easier to laugh this way. The frogs eyes burst with color then let out a long croak. ’’What do you see little fella’.’’ He whispered to the frog before darting his eyes from left to right.

Then the sound of crashing water caught his attention, made his entire body cringe and slightly curl at the loud sound. The entire sudden happening made his head turn and look upstream once again. Narrowing his eyes to try and peer through the fog. No quicker than had he thought of it, his feet pulled him along the grass upstream through the fog, taking his time as he moved. The fog was still thick, but he could see at least seven feet ahead of him, so as he moved up stream a shadow caught his attention across the bank of the river.

He stopped once the shadow turned into a figure he could recognize as a person and not some wild creature that was finding its late dinner. He was still holding the frog in his hand as it held there in position on his flat hand. Just standing there as he stared across the embankment, smirking a bit his head tossed back as he let out a slight laugh. ’’So I see I’m not the only one who had to run away from confined walls…’’ He called out slightly to the one across the river.

The ripples of the water would white cap as she moved closer to the edge of the stream with every inch taken her cloths became heavier. The key was to try and not slip on the algae aged rocks her toes curled up against them allowing her to keep her balance. Keeping her arms out to her sides droplets of water ran down her arms and dripped from her fingertips, the chill of the fog was a bit unnerving. The bank was in reach, but it was only then that she heard the voice she was so determined to get back to her belonging she had ignored all the signs.

Immediate pressure was felt against her lips as she bit down hearing the voice across the embankment. Lowering her arms to her side, she for the moment decided it would be best if she was to gather up her things, quickly moving unsure of what or who it was on the other side the voice was not familiar. Lifting her leg out of the water and pressing it into the damp soil she breathed out loudly, finally she was back where she was suppose to.
Bending over the first thing she would grab up is the cloak there was no need to have a wet-T-shirt contest here with someone she didn’t even know.

Curling the hooded cloak up against her body she would reach down and take the saddle bag into her hand and pull it up over her shoulder. The lids of her eyes would slowly open as she knew she had to interact with the being on the other side. Once the bag was comfortable across her frame she would turn around.

Managing a very light and yet friendly smile she would pull the hood up over her violet colored hair, trying to shield it from the chill of the air. Standing on there she would laugh lightly and call back in a retort.

“I don’t live inside the walls, I belong on the outside…. Whoever let’s barriers like walls control their life, never had an adventure….”

The laugh caught him off guard, it was feminine something he didn’t expect out in the middle of the woods. By the river he had found a drenched in water maiden that seemed to have trouble balancing and bouncing off of the rocks. He stayed on his side of the river, as he watched the form shuffle and move about seemingly to gather up her things like she was going to sprint for the free world. Michael lifted his shirt and took a sniff at it, did he really smell that bad that this woman would rather sprint for her life? With a soft chuckle almost inaudible he shook his head and pushed the ridiculous thought out of his head.

As the woman across the river spoke, he could only smile a toothy grin as his head nodded for a moment. Once again he took a seat on the bank of the river, dipping his feet back into the warm caress of Mother Nature’s liquid love. ’’Living in such constricted boundaries only make beings crave the outer limits. Do not give dismay to the walls as they hold close, for some may never see the secrets of the world. Staying hidden beyond the beaten path.’’ With a soft sigh his fingers dipped into the water under his legs, spinning the stirring water as it moved along the river.

’’Perhaps one won’t see true adventure, but they will always be watching through the looking glass…’’ The form turned, placing the suit jacket shoes and socks back onto a safer spot of the bank behind him. Elbows touched knees as his face collapsed into his hands and he stared into the fogged covered river for but a moment everything was clear and open. Once more his eyes raised and looked across the bank back to where the voice had come from, watching the form as the smile could be seen but only for a moment before the fog glistened over once again.

It was not so much the idea that she wanted to get away from him as it was more about getting covered up due to the chill of the fog. The forest as she knew bore many secrets and the last time she was stuck out here with Riley, things did not go exactly well as they could of.

Mumbling under her breath her grip would tighten on the strap of the saddle back as the flame in her eyes seemed to lick at the lids.

She knew, all she needed to know about the male standing across the bank, first and foremost that he wasn’t as he appeared. Yet, she was not frightened she had seen many of ‘his’ kind lurking in the walls of the school. Her knowledge would go unnoticed as she continued to smile listening to his words as he stood across the other side of the bank.

A small debate went through her mind about what her remark should say but she felt the need of having a ‘what the hell attitude about it’ and laughed lightly.

“The secrets hidden within the walls are there for a reason. All bonds of stone hold them; you just have to have an acute ear and sense to interrupt what the voices of the walls say.”

Watching as he dipped his fingers into the water, the tiny ripples would work their way from inward out, as she attempted to see if he had a reflection. Taking a deep breath she wondered if she should make the first move, she was more comfortable with him coming towards her, but she was the only that was already wet.

“An adventure… can be anything you want it to be… You do know that even the trees have eyes, and are spies for Mother Nature. The breath of the wind tells them everything they need to know…"

Smirking she would wave her hand in a come hither motion, trying to coax him to come to her side instead. Maybe he was more of an acrobat and could make his way across the rocks.

“Come… fellow knight of the round… we shall go seek an adventure..”

As the girl across the bank spoke, Mikel’s form stood back up after enjoying the touch of the cool river for but a moment. Picking up his coat off the bank along with his shoes he stepped back into current of the river, taking a moment to hold his stance and get his balance before prompting to a flat rock that stuck out of the river. The frog. It sat on the bank of the river where Mikel had completely forgotten to say his good-byes, but the little creature made itself apparent with a loud croaking noise that caught his attention which made him stop on the little rock path that formed under the rivers current. As he stood there looking from the frog back to the rocks before him, waiting for the girl on the bank to finish her poetic rule.

’’An acute ear and sense to interrupt… Well it’s as if you see these things and see faces and souls on them. Still, a family heirloom is a family heirloom... Beautiful in its every right.’’ His attention was once more brought back to the croaking frog and watched as it jumped into the water and disappeared from its spot and into the cool waters with the reflection of the moon against it. Further once again he took a few steps onwards once again, jumping from flat rock to flat rock making sure to keep himself balanced on each one before moving on. His hands outstretched on either side, holding his suit jacket in one hand, and his shoes in the other as he stood carefully on one larger flat rock that seemed to be a bit more dry than the others.

Balancing himself as he stood to look upon the girl from across the bank yet again, this time his gentle yet cherished smile grinned upon this idea. ’’An adventure… What sort of adventure does the fair gentle speaking maiden search for on such a dense summers night?’’ He waited a few more moments before he jumped over the last couple of flat rocks and landed on the bank beside the girl. Standing back up straight as he pulled the coat back over his shoulders and gave the girl a slightly formal bow. ’’Excuse me, Michael Morrigan at your disposal.’’

Life’s balance and the delicate touch that the male preserved across the way was something that was not generally normal for those of ‘his’ kind. This only made the situation even a little more exciting she would whisper to soft for anyone to hear as she saw the frog in the distance. It croaked for his attention and even followed him, how strange she thought to herself. She would not let her attention wonder as she taunted him with that smirk.

“Truly spoken, and heirlooms are the most valuable.”

The caution he took upon landing on every rock was also interesting perhaps he was a fighter, in some point of life or a hunter. A smile drew across her lips that was it, he was a hunter of course with his ‘talents’ it all made sense to her. She would need to remain on her guard, but that didn’t mean that she would stir up a little bit of fun. As he took a bow she would pull out her old customs out of her hat and pick up the black feathered skirt, lifting it up just enough to show her upper thigh.

“And I am Lady Lillian Dashelle” extending her hand outwards giving it up in a little bit of arch waiting for his lips to place upon it in traditional fashion. The spheres of her eyes would swirl a whirlwind of color, the violet though was the most prominent.

“Now Mister Michael, we are going to be entertaining the forest tonight. The moon is high in the sky and I think that we should go on for a hunt…” Turning on the balls of her feet she would turn to face him, in very close proximity to him, in almost a taunting way she would smirk. “You do like to hunt right? “

With his finger holding tight to the coat jacket that was swung over his shoulder, the delicate smile plastered over his lips as he listened to her speak. He rolled the name through his head for a few moments before he reached out, and held her arched hand with the back of his cold fingers. Only to bow deeply once again pressing his lips to the knuckles and flesh there, but only for a moment as he raised his form once again, slipping his hand from beneath the arch’s perch.

Standing up once again to his full height he looked at the girl with a slight smirk covering his lips for the moment when she spoke of going for a hunt. A slight shock going through him, the word hunt rolled through his mind, perhaps a hunt would be quite an adventure. But would he show the priminalitic nature of himself? Would he show the real animal that laid beneath the surface, or would he be the gentleman he loved to show off during the morning suns rays?

’’Well Miss Dashelle, I would be honored to escort you through these dark woods tonight… Perhaps there is a hunt that is needed to be chase, an urge to let go.’’ As close as she was standing to him, he could easily look down on her and with that he grinned from ear to ear. The gentleman fell through him though and he folded his left arm across his chest, only to step to her side and await to see if she would take his arm to lead him through the forest.

A soft chuckle moved through him and he rolled his eyes only slightly before he smiled, cherished of course. ’’I adore the hunt…The adrenaline, the need to chase… The will to follow…’’ His head rose to look at the stars above them, and with a soft sigh he returned his vision to the violet beauty ever so close.

The trees would sway in the distance as she waited for his answer noticing his arm being out stretched she would place her hand around it. She was not quite sure if she trusted him enough to actually be found perched on his arm. The smirk only seemed to twinkle in the light as he looked up to the stars so would she reaching her hand up pointing at the patterns.

“You know the history of the stars? “Crinkling up her nose as she would look over to him and smirk “I am sure you have heard many in your time.” The fire within the pits of her eyes only seemed to glow even more so closer to him. “There is a class offered at the college that tells you all about it it, if you are a star gazer I would suggest it for you.” She was not certain if he was actually already in the class or even if he attended the college.

Due to the reconstruction of the two cities he could be a walker of night by himself; however she was fairly certain that he was one of the protected few that lingered in the walls of the college. Especially after their earlier banter, reaching into her bag as he mentioned about the pulse of her heart quicken. She has to play this right, else there could prove to be some collateral damage.

Fishing around her saddle back she would remove her hand off his arm, and reach into the back and take out a jar that had a lid. Tossing it in his general direction she would smirk.

“Catch..”

Reaching into the bag she would take out another jar and smirked as she looked at him.

“So we are going to run through the forest and see who can catch the most fireflies! On your mark…Get set….”
